A new direction

New Floor Plan

The new floor plan was inspired by a computer motherboard. Many of the shapes in the plan parallel between the two. A Juice bar and Buffet style dining area was added. The food court will be open to all users of the space. Dining space will likely be located in the lobby area at the rear of the building.  
Lighting Focus-Office
My lighting focus for the new office space is the tunnel. Again, I am drawing inspiration from a computer circuit board. LED lights will trace down the walls and cut-outs will be used to reference the lines and shapes of a circuit board. The image shown above should give you an idea of how this might develop.

For the retail section, I will be using B&N Industries from their Cable and Rod Collection.

Gelato Pazzo Caffe! Great people, delicious food.

Gelato's Pazzo Caffe is located in New Orleans, Louisiana on Oak Street. These are images from a hypothetical school project that I worked on for the restaurant. My challenge was to make the pre-existing custom display cases work for the new location.  8115 OAK STREET, New Orleans, LA 70118-2039 Color is used to define space within the restaurant. Such a large room needed to be broken down into smaller spaces to provide privacy for guests. Bar seating is located at the front window. Bar style tables are located along the wall (right). To the rear of the restaurant there is a canopy area with seating. Traditional tables and booths are located behind the ordering counter. With so many styles of seating and five areas to choose from, guests can decide their level of privacy while dining.  It is important to make your space appealing to a diverse crowd. Designing the space

The retail portion of my project is located at the entrance of the building. upon entering the store, you first experience a long display table. To the right of the table is an intimate area set up for tournament competitions. Just behind this area are the bulk of our retail displays. The counter against the rear wall (most likely a graphic wall) will have monitors for gameplay and to complete the experience is a circular checkout counter, which will be my lighting focus for this section. The counter will be lit from the inside giving it a glowing effect.  The classroom space should be conducive to this particular learning style. I propose the 360 degree classroom to accommodate an optimal number of students. The instructor stands at the center of the classroom. There are drop down screens on every wall so that no matter where in the room students sit, there is always a clear view. Students will be placed at tables, which are set up for laptop use. This site gives an overview of the LETC building in it's current condition. Here is an image of the atrium space located at the entrance of the building. There are three levels total.  Here is an image of the receptionist's desk Right now the building houses companies working with the campus to develop new scientific breakthroughs.
