Project Description

My hypothetical client is software design company, Maxis. The project will be located on Louisiana State University's campus. It is to be included as part of the 'Master Plan' adopted by the university in 2004. Maxis will be setting up an office in the new LETC (Louisiana Emerging Technologies Center) Building. Their office will employ students for internships and campus jobs. Within their space, the company will include lecture and classroom spaces for an education program that they have introduced to the University. At the entrance of the building Maxis will have a retail store displaying all of their products/software along with some of their parent company's games (Electronic Arts) to help advertise the company products. This location is ideal since their targeted market is between the ages 20 – 25 (college age). The store design will be inspired by MAXIS’ most recent game, Spore.  I will be focusing on lighting and circulation through the space.

Inside the office will be a small Kitchen area to accommodate hungry employees. This company will try to appeal to the green/community conscious trends in order to get a ‘LEED’ on the market. The daycare center, which is provided for the workers, will function for the public as well. As an added bonus for the company, the games can be tested in the children’s playroom.

Ascension Catholic - Pavilion revisited after design completion

As my friends and family know, I am always updating my representational documents.  I have completed my new business card design, new resume, and new portfolio design complete with cover page.  In other good news, Google finally fixed the blog! I am back to working with Ascension Catholic School.  We made the building smaller and did away with the design phases.  The parents want something that can be built all at once.  We are not going to be able to call it the "New Pavilion Building" anymore.  The pavilion stage is history. Originally the design was broken down into 3 phases for budgeting purposes. PHASE ONE: This phase is a metal structure that would provide shelter from rain for sporting events.  PHASE TWO: This phase encloses the basketball court, making the facility more professional. PHASE THREE: In this phase an office area is added to the front of the building, and locker rooms are added on the back.  This is intended to be the final stage of design.

One of My Pastimes

I like to paint as well as design.  This is a picture I painted for my friend, Amanda, as a wedding gift.  Pedro the frog... Acrylic on wood And here is another project which will be a New Orleans scene when it is finished.  This picture is not the most recent.  I will post another when I finish.
